Speyerer Dom
Speyerer Dom is a Romanesque Dom completed and consecrated in 1051. Visitors come for the scale of the stonework, the soaring vaulted spaces and the burial crypts where Habsburgs and other historic rulers are interred. The site combines architectural detail with centuries of regional history.

Highlights
- A large, calm interior framed by thick columns and high vaults.
- Look for carved doorways and detailed stone sculpture.
- Below ground the crypts contain old tombs and tightly packed chambers.
- Restoration work is sometimes in progress, so scaffolding may be visible.
- In winter the adjacent square hosts a busy Christmas market with food stalls and regional beers.
