Fontaine de Janus
A modern memorial fountain created in 1988 to mark Strasbourg’s bimillennium. The design involves a fragment of a Roman aqueduct and a bronze figure of Janus, the two-faced Roman god, intended to nod to the city’s Franco-German identity. The work was realised by sculptor Denis Roth with design by Tomi Ungerer and architect Paul Ziegler.
