Ancient Greek Agora

A main public square from antiquity, the agora served as the city’s market and meeting place. Parts of the site date back to the Hellenistic and Roman periods, with older remains buried beneath later layers. Expect open ruins that hint at civic buildings, stoas and small temples once framing daily life.

You will see fragments of stoas, bases of columns and paved surfaces rather than fully rebuilt buildings.
Interpretive signs are limited, so much of the site requires imagination or background knowledge to place individual features.
